Established in 1946, American Legion Post 721, was founded by a group of World War l and ll
veterans.  A number of founding and early members became well known citizens in the community.
Among them, Carl Buchheim, (Buchheim Park) T.J Meadows, Jean Lacoague, and Tony Nydegger.

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as patriotic, mutual-help
war time Veterans organization. A community service organization which now numbers
nearly 3,000,000 members - men and women - in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts
worldwide. These posts are organized into 55 Departments - one for the 50 states,
the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico and the Philippines.

Post meetings are held every 3rd Monday every month at the Nydegger Bldg at 7:00 pm.
The club room opens at 5:30 pm. The food committee
prepares a steak dinner, with salad, salsa and chips,
 beans and a roll.
Dinner is served at the close of the meeting.
